  Gillian Anderson, an American actress is worth in excess of $40 million. Gillian Anderson is probably most popular for her portrayal of Special Agent Dana Scully on the long-running American TV show "The X-Files." In addition to The X-Files Gillian has enjoyed a successful career in film as well as television.Gillian Anderson was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 9th, 1968. Edward Anderson, her father owned a post-production film company. Her parents relocated to Puerto Rico for 15 months and then returned to London to ensure her dad could go to the London Film School. Her birthplace was in Crouch End, north London. She attended Coleridge Primary School. Her family relocated to the United States, she was only eleven years old. They settled in Grand Rapids. They kept an apartment in London and spent their summers there.Following the move back to the States, Anderson went through an erratic stage as a teenager (petty theft as well as a relationship with an older boyfriend, and more) and was put in therapy at 14. After graduating from high school Anderson went to The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago and graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1990. Anderson was part of Cornell University's National Theatre of Great Britain summer program.
